As of early June, there are 439 operating reactors in 31countries across the world. These units have a combined capacityof around 390 GWe, supplying roughly 10% of theworld’s electricity on a constant basis. Over the past fewmonths, as the world has been gripped by a relentless pandemic,nuclear plants have, for the most part, kept the courseand safely provided reliable electricity to homes, businesses,hospitals, factories, and all the other facilities that our modernpopulations rely upon.
