Trio in pact to boost Clair Ridge performace

BP has formed a new alliance with Baker Hughes and Odfjell Drilling to improve drilling performance and production at its challenging Clair Ridge development in the UK West of Shetland area after previous setbacks. The operator and contractors late last week said they have entered into a new tripartite agreement they said aims to "transform platform drilling and completions activity" at the offshore oilfield - the largest in Western Europe. Under the new five-year agreement, which has options to extend for a further four years, the alliance is initially targeting a 15% increase in average annual production on Clair Ridge, the second phase development at the giant field. This will be achieved through drilling "the best quality wells safely and more efficiently and harnessing the skills and expertise of each company in a single collaborative team", the trio said.
