INDONESIAN operator Medco Energi has received approval for its plan of development of the Paus Biru shallow-water gas discovery, located in the Sampang production sharing contract off East Java. The plan consists of one horizontal development well with an unmanned wellhead platform tied back to the existing wellhead platform at the Oyong field 27 kilometres away. From there, gas will be piped to the Sampang PSC joint venture's Grati facility.
