BRAZILIAN oil giant Petrobras has tendered for the supply and installation of 98 kilometres of rigid risers for gas injection, most of which will be used to replace compromised flexible risers on five different floating production, storage and offloading units currently in operation on the Tupi pre-salt field in the prolific Santos basin. The Petrobras tender offers a contract covering the engineering, procurement and installation of 11 gas-injection risers. Leading subsea suppliers including Subsea 7, Saipem, McDermott International, Allseas and TechnipFMC are among those invited to participate in the tender, several industry sources told Upstream. Bids are due to be presented to Petrobras on 19 March, and the operator is scheduling installation to take place in 2024.
