GAZPROM has slashed years off the expected start-up date of a gas development on the Yamal Peninsula as it looks to fend off interest in the trio of fields from fellow Russian player Novatek. State-controlled monopoly Gazprom is now aiming for first gas from the Tambey fields to be piped to the Baltic Sea port of Ust-Luga in 2026 - way ahead of a previous target of 2030.
