NEXANS has won a contract to design, manufacture and supply the subsea umbilical system for the Bacalhau pre-salt field in the Santos basin. Norway's Equinor is fast-tracking the development off Brazil. It plans to put the deep-water field, which holds estimated recoverable resources of 2 billion barrels of oil equivalent, on stream in 2024.
