THE southern North Sea, while often described as a highly mature area, continues to tempt new companies by offering up gas discoveries and opportunities to acquire assets even after more than 50 years since production started in the region. One new venture that believes in the potential of the southern gas basin is Everard Energy. Everard was launched by the same team - chief executive John Martin, chief financial officer Patrick Kennedy, chief technical officer Simon Lunn and developments director Simon Tortike - that founded and built Hansa Hydrocarbons.
