Aker BP set for stake sale

OSLO-BASED Aker BP is looking to farm down an interest of up to 40% in its sizeable high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) King Lear Area gas and condensate development offshore Norway and has appointed investment bank Jefferies to handle the sale. The sales process for the asset in the Norwegian sector comes amid a flurry of high-value deals for oil and gas interests on the UK side of the North Sea median line that combined have totalled more than $2.7 billion since the start of the year.
