BW fends off Modec to land Barossa floater

AUSTRALIAN independent Santos has handed out the key contract for the floating production, storage and offloading vessel destined for its Barossa development offshore northern Australia. Santos confirmed this week it has awarded Norway's BW Offshore the contract for the construction, connection and operation of the FPSO, after Japanese contractor Modec had appeared to be in the driving seat for the award.
