Pandemic shuffles Shell's 2020s outlook

SHELL is considering how the political and social fallout from coronavirus will shape the coming decade and influence its business strategy for the 2020s and beyond. Since February, the Anglo-Dutch supermajor has been focusing on the pandemic-driven recession and recovery outlooks, while also recognising that decisions made now could have far-reaching implications for the energy transition and climate. Shell believes that three recovery scenarios are at play in the 2020s, and whether people and policymakers choose to prioritise wealth, security or health will affect energy markets for years to come, according to Jeremy Ben-tham, Shell vice president, global business environment.
