PV rigs being kept busy

PETROVIETNAM Drilling has reported a strong level of rig utilisation despite the "dual shock" of Covid-19 and low oil prices. The Vietnamese offshore drilling contractor said late last week the last two of its jack-ups - PV Drilling Ⅱ and PV Drilling Ⅲ - are due to start work in September and October, respectively, which will mean all four of its jack-ups will be utilised. PVD Ⅱ will begin a 100-day campaign off Vietnam from September, while the PVD Ⅲ will be used by KrisEnergy on the five-well development drilling programme at Cambodia's Apsara project with a duration of around three months from, tentatively, October. PVD Ⅱ and PVD Ⅲ halted operations in Malaysia in July and June, respectively, ahead of their contractual terms.
