SUBSEA 7 is deepening its renewable energy portfolio after the UK contractor won a deal - potentially worth up to $150 million - for installation work at a wind farm off Taiwan. The Oslo-listed player said late last week the contract involves the installation of the submarine cable system on the farm, but declined to identify the development concerned, siting "contractual reasons". "The contract is subject to a final investment decision by the client and Subsea 7 will record the contract in backlog once that decision has been made " the company said.
