Aibel nets floater work for Shell's Pierce field

NORWEGIAN contractor Aibel has landed work to convert and extend the life of Bluewater's Haewene Brim floating production, storage and offloading vessel as Shell embarks on a blowdown project to exploit the gas cap at its Pierce field in the UK central North Sea. The FPSO is scheduled to come off station in April or May next year, vessel owner Bluewater confirmed to Upstream. Aibel's shipyard in Haugesund will modify the gas export system, replace the integrated control system and carry out the work to extend the vessel's life. The yard visit is planned to last about three months, the Dutch offshore contractor said.
