摘要

THREE executives of former UK independent Ophir Energy have thrown their weight behind a North Sea carbon capture and storage (CCS) project following a company acquisition, with Australian banking giant Macquarie Group also becoming a cornerstone investor. London-based Storegga Geo-technologies, controlled by the three ex-Ophir executives Alan Booth, Nick Cooper and Jonathan Taylor, has bought Pale Blue Dot Energy, operator of the Acorn CCS scheme off the UK. Storegga will become the new holding company for Pale Blue Dot. Macquarie's commodities & global markets business has become a cornerstone investor in Storegga in a move to drive forward Pale Blue Dot's low-carbon energy ambitions. It is unclear where this deal leaves supermajors Shell and Total plus privately owned Chrysaor, which have also been supporting the CCS project.
