ITALY'S Saipem confirmed last week that the company, in a consortium with Daewoo and Chi-yoda, has been granted a $4 billion engineering, procurement and construction contract for Train 7 of the Nigeria LNG liquefied natural gas project. Upstream reported in April that the project could have been set for further delays due to outstanding issues including financing when it came to converting a letter of intent signed last September into a full EPC contract for the facility. Nigeria LNG Limited, a consortium made up of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Shell, Total and Eni, hosted an online event to announce the milestone.
