Norway wells in view

ANOTHER three exploration wells are due to be drilled off Norway this year following applications filed with the authorities by operators Equinor, ConocoPhillips and Aker BP. State-controlled Equinor intends to sink wildcat 6407/1-8S at the Appolonia prospect in its operated production licence 263 using the Hercules semi-submersible rig. The well, with an optional sidetrack, is due to be spudded in August in a water depth of 295 metres at the drilling location on the Halten terrace, targeting hydrocarbons in sandstone sequences in the Fangst and Baat formations.
