Roger remains upbeat about Blackrock results and points to nearby Rosebank

SICCAR Point Energy remains upbeat about results from its Blackrock exploration well in the West of Shetland area despite it discovering thinner sands than were hoped for, writes Rob Watts. Siccar Point chief executive Jonathan Roger said that media reports in the wake of the results being released had led to them being interpreted more negatively in public than they should have been. "We are really excited about Blackrock," Roger said. "I think from our perspective it has been picked up wrongly, actually. It was a very positive result for the region. "It was the first well drilled between Cambo and Rosebank and it was a discovery. It has proven the geological model. The only downside was that it had thinner sands than ideally we would have liked."
