UK PLAYER Amerisur Resources has rejected a takeover approach that could have led to French independent Maurel & Prom (M&P) launching a cash-plus-shares deal for the Colombia-focused company, writes Eoin O'Cinneide. M&P this week confirmed it was in talks with London-listed Amerisur over the potential acquisition after the latter last week said it had opened discussions with unidentified "industry participants" over some or all of its assets.
