US shale gas giant EQT was midweek set to name a new chief executive, most likely Toby Rice, following a shareholder vote at an annual meeting that saw the Rice team gain a majority of seats on the company's 12-member board. According to preliminary results from EQT, six new nominees from the Rice team slate will join the board, along with retaining Toby's brother and board incumbent Daniel Rice. At press time, the new board was expected to stick to an initial plan of naming Toby Rice as chief executive of EQT, replacing Rob McNally who had been appointed to the role in August 2018.
