Ironbark site survey gets the go-ahead from authorities

UK supermajor BP has been given approval to carry out a site survey before the planned drilling of the Ironbark prospect off Western Australia, writes Josh Lewis. Australian regulator the National Offshore Petroleum Safety & Environmental Management Authority has approved BP's environment plan for a pre-drill-ing site survey in WA-359-P. The survey is aimed at confirming the well location on the Ironbark prospect is over flat seabed, in an area free of seabed debris and shallow gas pockets.
