INDIAN private sector giant Reliance Industries is understood to have awarded a substantial subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) contract to UK-based TechnipFMC for work on its $2 billion-plus MJ deep-water gas and condensate field at the flagship KG-D6 asset off India's east coast. At least two sources close to the tender process told Upstream that Reliance has chosen TechnipFMC as its preferred contractor for the SURF engineering, procurement, construction and installation project.
