NORWEGIAN contractor Kvaerner and Rosetti Marino of Italy are set to compete in a front-end engineering and design competition to provide Shell with a normally unattended platform for its high-pressure, high-temperature Jackdaw development in the UK central North Sea. he Anglo-Dutch supermajor has also confirmed that Jackdaw, which straddles blocks 30/2a, 30/2d and 30/3a, will be tied back to the company's operated Shearwater hub in Block 22/30b, a host option that had been widely speculated upon but not formally made known until this week.
