Repsol cleared for Ridges well

SPAIN'S Repsol has been given clearance from Mexican regulators to drill a new deep-water well in the Mexican Ridges area. Drilling of the Juum-1EXP probe is planned to start as soon as 30 June and last 62 days, to be followed by completion operations planned to run from 30 August to 10 September, according to the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH). The regulator approved the plans in a virtual meeting that restarted activity of the commission after nearly a month-long pause due to the coro-navirus outbreak. The well will be drilled a total depth of 4460 metres by the drill-ship Maersk Valiant, with objectives in Lower Miocene, Lower Oligocene and Upper Eocene plays.
