New boss for Aker Energy

GHANA-FOCUSED Aker Energy has appointed Svein Jakob Liknes as its acting chief executive, replacing Jan Arve Hau-gan who resigned this week. Haugen's departure came after Aker was forced to go back to the drawing board on its Pecan deep-water project in the Deepwater Tano-Cape Three Points block. Liknes was the company's head of operations, overseeing the Pecan plan of development and operations process. "Aker Energy continues the effort to optimise and safeguard the Pecan project in close collaboration with Ghanaian authorities," said Oyvind Eriksen, chief executive of Aker ASA, Aker Energy's parent company.
