Huge ramp-up in Stabroek resource estimates

EXXONMOBIL has significantly beefed up the estimated resource base at its prolific Stabroek block off Guyana, where the partners this week also unveiled a fresh discovery with the Uaru-1 wildcat. The US supermajor now pegs recoverable resources at the block — where it is joined by compatriot independent Hess and China's CNOOC — at more than 8 billion barrels of oil equivalent, a massive 2 billion boe increase from the most recent previous estimate, released just last month.
