CNOOC making cautious headway at Glengorm

CNOOC Petroleum Europe is screening a wide range of potential development options for its "significant" Glengorm gas condensate discovery in the UK central North Sea but signalled this week that it is maintaining a cautious approach to the process. Speaking at an industry event in London on 11 December, Bas Spaargaren, CNOOC Petroleum Europe's vice president of exploration for Europe and Africa, described Glengorm as a "significant discovery". However, he told the Prospex 2019 conference that there are "still very significant uncertainties with the field" and stressed that the operator is not "getting ahead of ourselves".
