First Gen eyes interim floater for Batangas import project

PHILIPPINES player First Gen Corporation has formally applied to the country's Department of Energy (DoE) for a floating storage and regasification unit-based liquefied natural gas import project at Batangas. First Gen wants to install a temporary FSRU while it progresses with construction of an onshore receiving facility. The company hopes that if the DoE promptly approves its plans, it can start construction in May and the FSRU could start commercial operations in the third quarter of 2022.
