STATE-OWNED gas pipeline operator Uztransgaz has started the ball rolling on a project to upgrade about 30% of Uzbekistan's gas trunklines and compression stations, writes Vladimir Afanasiev. The company said in a tender disclosure notice that, following the receipt of a $1 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank, it is seeking to hire international consultants.
