Petrobas weighs options for future Mero gas use

BRAZILIAN state-controlled company Petrobras is assessing alternatives to potentially exploit some of the natural gas that will be produced from the giant Mero pre-salt field in the Santos basin. All natural gas from Mero, estimated to hold between 3 billion and 4 billion barrels of oil in recoverable volumes, is currently poised for re-injection to increase the recovery factor in the field and maximise production rates.
