摘要

AUSTRALIA could implement a gas reservation scheme as part of several potential policy changes aimed at battling domestic supply shortages, despite the country being a world leader in liquefied natural gas, writes Josh Lewis. The federal government said it was considering such a policy but it would only be implemented if state and territory gov-ernments lifted "unwarranted restrictions" on gas developments. The more heavily populated states of New South Wales and Victoria have gas shortages, but have also banned most onshore petroleum activity.
