Kosmos eyes new LNG facilities offshore Mauritania and Senegal

US INDEPENDENT Kosmos Energy has sketched out the possibility of two new liquefied natural gas facilities being built to tap deep-water gas resources off Mauritania and Senegal, writes Iain Esau. Kosmos - a minority partner in BP's Greater Tortue Amheyim (GTA) liquefaction scheme on the maritime boundary of the two countries - said in its annual report that the Bir Allah discovery off Mauritania and Yakaar-Teranga off Senegal have sufficient feedstock to each underpin an LNG scheme.
