Commercial framework paved way for BSWA project

SHELL released the invitations to tender for Bonga South West-Aparo (BSWA) in February, after agreeing heads of terms for the resolution of issues related to OML 118, writes Iain Esau. These issues included a dispute with state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) over the terms of the production sharing contract. After these terms were agreed, Shell said it had "a clear commercial framework for a potential BSWA final investment decision". In its 2018 annual report, published last month, Shell said that "a time frame for the final investment decision will be announced after a commercial framework is agreed".
