Equinor moves towards next phase at Snohvit

NORWEGIAN operator Equinor aims to make the concept selection later this year on the next stage of its Snohvit Future project to boost recovery of gas resources from the Barents Sea field, with the final investment decision due in 2020. The state-controlled player and Snohvit partners Petoro, Total, Neptune Energy and Wintershall Dea are looking at several "building blocks" for phase two of the scheme. These include the drilling of new wells, onshore and offshore compression to lift reservoir pressure, and possibly a new gas pipeline to shore, having recently made a concretisation decision.
