ITALIAN operator Eni's costly Kekra-1 wildcat off Pakistan has failed to deliver the giant gas discovery that the nation and partners had been hoping for, writes Amanda Battersby. The Ministry of Energy's Petroleum Division revealed that the ultra-deepwater well, drilled around 280 kilometres off Pakistan's commercial capital Karachi, had encountered a good quality carbonate reservoir but unfortunately it was water wet.
