Total seeks drillship for work on Nigeria's OML 130

FRENCH supermajor Total is in the market to charter a deep-water drillship for exploration and development drilling duties in OML 130 off Nigeria. A pre-qualification exercise has begun, and responses must be submitted to Total Upstream Nigeria's offices by 7 June. Pre-qualification documentation did not identify exactly why the rig is needed, but Total wants the unit to start work in the third quarter of 2020 under a one-year contract, with three one-year extension options. The chosen rig will have to carry out drilling, completion, workover and intervention operations in water depths ranging from 1100 to 1700 metres and to drilling depths up to 6500 metres.
