Selling Out

To an increasing number of UPSIDE readers, it will feel like we are in the middle of the equivalent of the Great Depression. You are going to look at the decreasing reliability of your paycheck―the one that reflects the large pay cut you took, out of fairness, after you laid people off―and realize your expenditures no longer match your income. Then it's time to sell a car, get a cheaper house, drop the private schools for the kids, cut up some of those credit cards, and think the dreaded thought: sell your company. Once the pain of that realization has sunk in, here are some tips, arrived at through great expense by yours truly.
