"I was really hopeful we could go from a comedy -last year we had crashed in such an elaborate manner -to a success," team member Savannah Ponder told Columbus, Mississippi's Dispatch newspaper. "This year was a huge relief."rnFourteen schools competed June 18-22 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River's Webster Field, Md., annex, 13 of which were able to fly their aircraft.rn"The weather was great. It stayed beautiful, it was mild compared to the demo last year," says AUVSI Board Member Joe Brannan, who organizes the annual event. "The wind was pretty calm, all the teams got at least some sort of flight started."
