Sunday, 12 Feb. was a wet, overcast day at Tel Nof Airbase in central Israel, but the bad weather didn't prevent a crowd gathering for an event with strategic implications for the Jewish state. On that day, Israeli Aerospace Industries (LAI) would officially hand over the first Heron TP unmanned aerial vehicle to the Israeli Air Force (IAF). This enlarged version of IAI's basic Heron drone is known in the air force as Eitan, meaning steadfast in Hebrew.
