The science community is one that has embraced unmanned systems relatively enthusiastically, realizing that surveying and monitoring wildlife and terrain is either easier with the use of this type of technology or the quality of the data collected is higher. In the United Kingdom specifically, scientists have incorporated unmanned systems into the monitoring of wildlife and other environmental aspects via a number of initiatives currently under way, both in the aerial and marine domains.
