The strength of the Naval Institute's open forum has always been its contributors, those who accepted the challenge to read, think, speak, and write. Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral James A. Win-nefeld Jr. has certainly been no stranger to the pages of Proceedings during his nearly four decades of service to the nation, and we're fortunate to have him share some parting thoughts with us before leaving active duty.
