摘要

The failure modes, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) is commonly used to assess and manage risks in subsea pipeline systems but it can become large and cumbersome. Approaches are suggested, both utilising the threat matrix, for reducing the size of a FMECA and for reducing the manpower effort required for its application, so as to increase the efficiency of the risk assessment process.
