Future Pipe Launches Fiberstrong Pipe In North America

A new line of fiberglass reinforced plastic pipe is being introduced to the North American market by Future Pipe Industries Inc., Houston, TX. Fiberstrong pipe is manufactured by a filament-winding process and is composed of a resin-rich reinforced liner, structural walls, stiff core and resin-rich exterior layer. It will be available to customers in the United States in mid-August, says Saad Elkhadem, president and chief executive officer of Future Pipe Industries. Fiberstrong pipe is designed for traditional direct bury, microtunneling and sliplin-ing into old corroded concrete sewer pipes. It will be available in diameters from 3 to 158 inches and lengths of 20 and 40 feet with pressure ratings up to 250 psi. Elkhadem says that large-diameter Fiberstrong pipe also is expected to serve the power generation market for intake lines and circulating water lines. In addition, pipe for above-ground applications will be available.
