Electrowinning of iron from concentrated chromium containing electrolytes

The conditions of the electrochemical extraction of impurity cations as cathode deposit from concentrated chromate solutions using a semiscaled cell, in which gas evolution on the electrodes is utilized to maintain the predetermined difference in level between anolyte and catholyte and hence the desired catholyte acidity, have been studied and optimized.
