Pioneering the underground option in Dublin

The Dublin Port Tunnel Is the first major tunnel to be built in Ireland's capital for many years. The scheme takes traffic from the M1 and M50, in north Dublin, almost directly south to link up with the Port infrastructure (figure 1). It provides 5.6km of twin lane motorway, of which 1,9km is twin cut and cover tunnel and 2.6km is twin bored tunnel.
