Impregilo set for Abu Dhabi tunnel win

Italian contractor Impregilo is set to be the first company to win one of three contracts for sections of a 42km sewer tunnel for the Abu Dhabi Sewer Services Company (ADSSC).rnThe news was revealed prematurely by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council which confirmed Impregilo as the winner in mid August but according to client ADSSC the contract award letter is yet to be issued.rnThe Executive Council is a council of senior ministers chaired by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It approves all project and financial decisions made by the Emirate's various authorities -including ADSSC.rn"The Executive Council of Abu Dhabi has awarded Impregilo an US$243M contract to construct a sewer tunnel linking Abu Dhabi Island and mainland to sewage treatment plants in the Emirate," it said in a statement.
