DRILLING SAFETY STANDARDS UPDATE

The 31 July 2014 will be an important day for safety in the drilling industry. After that date all drilling and piling equipment sold in the EU will have to comply with the requirements of the new standard EN 1 6228 'Drilling and foundation equipment -Safety'. The new standard will take the place of two existing standards, EN 791 -the current machinery safety standard for drill rigs, and EN 996-the standard for piling equipment.
