Data Collected during shield tunnelling are frequently used for understanding the interaction between machine and the ground. Of paramount interest are those parameters which directly reflect the contact between machine and soil or which describe the excavation process itself. These parameters include: 1. Thrust force on the cutting wheel [KN] 2. Total thrust force [Kn] 3. Torque on the cutting wheel [MNm] 4. Penetration [mm/rev] as a calculated value from the parameters: 4.1 Cutting wheel speed [rev./min] 4.2 Advance speed [mm/min]
