Walkover locator systems remain the backbone of the busy HDD locator market. Innovations in the technology are creating products that are easier than ever for operators to use but at the same time are so sophisticated that they will be able to be updated with applications so advanced that they may not yet have been conceived. "In the past equipment didn't typically change over its life, you would buy something and it would remain stable in its use, but with the Aurora we are introducing a device where the expectation is that it will change continually over time," explains Siggi Finnsson, product manager at the US based Digital Control Incorporated (DCI).
