SMS Schloemann-Siemag devises hot strip mill solutions

Germany-based SMS Schloemann-Siemag AG and USA-based SMS Concast have received an order for an advanced caster/mill configuration, the Multipurpose Section plant (MPS), for the new Chaparral East facility. This new green-field plant will have a production capacity exceeding one million tons per year and will be erected in eastern USA. It is a culmination of two years of development work undertaken by Chaparral and SMS.
