A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR TRENCHLESS

Atlanta's tunnel boring machine (TBM), known as 'Driller Mike', has commenced excavation on the project, following two and a half months onsite first time assembly (OFTA). The 3.8 m diameter Robbins machine has started boring the 8 km Bellwood Tunnel, on a path that will travel from an inactive quarry, below a water treatment plant and reservoir, and finish next to the Chattahoochee River.
